Futaleufu, which is a must do on every kayakers list of rivers to paddle. With
this tour you will experience fantastic white water in picturesque Patagonian
surroundings. Our guides know the river extremely well and will guide you to
the cleanest and safest lines through the different rapids on the various
sections of river that make up the world famous Futalefu river.
We will start the journey in Pucon and work our way south from here. On the way
we explore a few other rivers. The program includes the Rio Fuy and Gol Gol and/or Petrohue.
Description of the trip – Upon your arrival in Temuco, we will pick you up from the airport and bring you to Pucon. Here you spend the first night in Palguín (about 30 kilometers from Pucon) in a hut in the countryside – on one side a mountain, on the other side of the beautiful Palguin River with its many waterfalls.
After a hopefully relaxed night you will have breakfast in the cabin before you head down to Pucon, where you will meet your guide. Before heading
to Futaleufu, kayaks and paddles are chosen; boats outfitted and tested on one
of the surrounding Pucon rivers. Then you spend a final night in Palguín. Then
it’s off to the Rio Fuy, where you will camp after a full day kayaking. The
next day the Gol Gol and / or Petrohue Rivers await you. After that, another
night at the campsite to rest, we will then take the ferry to Chaitén from
where you continue to your main destination – Futaleufu. Where you will spend
four days getting to know the area, the river and the spectacular surrounding
countryside, both in your kayak and by taking short walks to explore after a
great days paddling. You will spend the nights here in cozy riverside cabins.
Throughout the trip an internationally experienced guide who is not only an
amazing river guide but also an encyclopedia of knowledge on the local Chilean
culture, flora and fauna will accompany you.
