Description of the Activity – In our beginner course, you will learn the most important basic whitewater kayak techniques. It is not necessary to have experience before. We start our course in a lake (WW 0) and then we do classes in rivers with class I-II rapids. At the end of that course the clients should be able to go down a river with rapids class I-II alone (without guide).
Description of the Trip – On the day of your arrival, we will meet in the afternoon/evening in Pucón (or, with the additional reservation of transportation, we will pick you up at the Temuco airport). For dinner you can go to a restaurant here in Pucon before going to the cabins in Palguín.
The second day starts with a breakfast in the cabin (you will find everything you need in the kitchen). Then you`ll go down to Pucon where you will meet your guide in the Kayak Chile shop. Together with him you will choose your kayak and the entire equipment. Once you got ready, starts your kayak class. The first part you will spend in the lake (WW 0).
Here you get a brief safety introduction and learn the most important basic techniques. After lunch (traditional Mapuche food), the second part of the route will take you to a river with rapids class I-II. At the end of the day you can eat again in Pucon, before returning to Palguín to spend the night there.
On the third day, breakfast is announced again in your cabin. Then you will go to Villarrica, where you enter into the river Tolten. After the first part you will make a little break with a sandwich on the shore. Follow the second part of the classes in the same river before going to a private beach where you will spend the night in tents. For dinner, there is a typical Chilean barbecue with soft drinks, beer and good Chilean wine. After breakfast and dismantling, the third day of the course will take place on the Tolten river again, before returning to Pucón in the afternoon/evening. As before, you can go to a restaurant in Pucon and then go to Palguin where you will spend the last night in your cabin. The last day, you will have breakfast in the cabin before we take you back to Pucón, where our course for beginners in white water kayaking ends.
